Walthamstow 1-1 Abbey Rangers (FA Cap second qualifying round)
A hard-fought match will need a replay after the Essex Senior League’s Walthamstow drew with Combined Counties Football League side Abbey Rangers.
Rangers took an early lead thanks to Marcus Cousins’ header at the back post. However, Walthamstow continued to create chances and were rewarded early in the second-half by a sensational strike from 25 yards by midfielder Billy Jones
Stow pushed for the lead and were denied by an acrobatic goal-line clearance by Gebrai, before a second booking for Rangers skipper Bentley after a foul mounted more pressure on the visitors.
Both teams had chances to grasp a place in the next stage of the cup, but a reverse fixture at Addlestone Moor will be needed to find out who will face Whyteleafe in the third qualifying round. The fixture is scheduled for Tuesday evening.
Cockfosters 0 - 1 Southend Manor (Essex Senior League)
Ryan Imbert’s second-half header earned Southend Manor a valuable three points at Chalk Lane on Saturday afternoon.
The visitors dominated the early stages of the match though Cockfosters grew into the first-half but failed to register shots on target.
A set-play from the training ground should have seen the home side take the lead early in the second half after a fantastic delivery from the number 10, but the target failed to beat the goalkeeper while unmarked.
Manor punished a number of squandered attacks to take the lead in the 70th minute, with striker Imbert leaping well to head a cross home.
The full-time whistle leaves Cockfosters in mid-table, while Southend Manor - who have struggled in the early stages of the season - rise to 15th.
