Ilford 1 - 2 Enfield: Enfield come back to win at Cricklefield Stadium
Enfield came out on top in the FA Vase First Round Qualifying despite going 1-0 down in the first minute thanks to Jerald Cobblah’s strike from range.
The away side found an equaliser on thirteen minutes thanks to a hoofed free kick coming to Michael Salako, whose powerful looping header levelled the scores.
Only one minute later, Josh Woodcock met a corner at the back post to shoot between the goalkeeper’s legs and give Enfield the lead following a period of pressure.
The result sees Enfield through to the second qualifying round, where they will face Enfield Borough on 14 September. Up next for Ilford is a Essex Senior League fixture with Holland FC.
Sporting Bengal 0 - 1 Wormley Rovers: Wormley progress in FA Vase
Eastern Counties League Division One South side Wormley missed one penalty and scored one at Mile End to progress to the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Vase.
A back and forth first-half saw both sides waste chances to take the lead and it took until the second period for the opening goal of the match.
Following an earlier foul in the area and blazing penalty miss, a second reckless tackle in the box saw another spot kick awarded to the away team. A change of penalty taker saw Benny successful from 12 yards to give Wormley the lead.
Sporting Bengal will look to bounce back from a disappointing performance in their Essex Senior League fixture against Enfield on Saturday 7 September.
